The exterior decoration is executed in two tone gold Takamakie and Hiramakie. It features lush naturalistic vegetable garden scene with inlays of mother of pearl and ivory, decorated with beetles, butterflies and a bird. It also has a yellow bronze butterfly and ivory pea pod to the upper lid. Made from Paulownia Wood ( Kiri Wood )
The interior is Mura-Nashiji with fundame rims with scrolls to the edge, the base is Nashiji. There are some shrinkage repairs to underside of the base, due to the tightly curved construction.
